Ms. Yvette Lee, Counsellor at Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai Group of Institutions conducted a session on Reinventing Yourself – Learning Coping Strategies for the students pursuing management studies at PiMSR on 5th September, 2023 at 10 a.m. Ms. Yvette Lee is a counselor, therapist, coach and trainer. She has been working in the field of mental health for the last 14 years. Her expertise lies in mental health counseling, crisis, grief and trauma counseling and adolescent and marriage counseling. She has worked in the past with people living with mental illnesses and is currently associated with a group of schools and colleges in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. She works with students with behavioral, emotional, psychological and academic difficulties.

Ms. Lee began the session by explaining the importance of maintaining good mental health which is crucial for every individual especially students. The demanding academic environment, coupled with the challenges of personal growth and social interactions, underscores the need to prioritize mental well-being. She delved into the various factors that make good mental health very significant for students. From academic performance to overall quality of life, she explored how nurturing mental health can positively impact various aspects of a student’s journey. She suggested various tips and tricks to get over depression and sadness. She suggested many recommendations to reinvent oneself. The various coping strategies explained by her were very useful to the students. It was an engaging and interactive session. At the end of the session, Ms. Yvette Lee was felicitated by Professor Anuja Menkar.
