The Corporate Relations Committee at Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research organizes a three day workshop on “Public Speaking” for MMS first year students every year as it builds confidence, improves research Skills and strengthens deductive skills. Public speaking is one of the most important and most dreaded forms of communication. The resource persons for the session was and Prof. Vikrant Gharat. Through this workshop they were able to enlighten the students about the importance of public speaking in personal and corporate life. Due to the pandemic in the year 2021 this workshop was conducted online for the students. They informed students that public speaking is a soft skill that requires excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and lots of confidence. In fact, it is believed that 70 percent of all jobs involve some form of public speaking. Public speaking can serve the purpose of transmitting information, telling a story, motivating people to act or encouraging people. This type of speech is deliberately structured with three general purposes: to inform, to persuade and to entertain. He encouraged students and said with thorough preparation and practice; we can overcome your nervousness and perform exceptionally well.
