Aptitude test is conducted to understand an individual’s ability to successfully perform particular tasks. The goal of an aptitude test is to uncover an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, along with their ability to succeed in specific situations. Aptitude tests are undertaken after the initial job application. The tests are used to filter out unsuitable applicants from the selection process in order to save time.
Aptitude refers to the competency of a person to learn or acquire knowledge. As a standard format, the aptitude tests for placements consist of three sections i.e. Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and the Verbal Ability. The test is standardized and is used to examine certain skills of the applicant, which are ranked based on a scoring system; hence, they allow organizations to quantify and compare aptitude tests with other candidates. A situational judgment is a specific career aptitude test that helps the human resource department predict how an employee will react to a specific situation in the workplace. They are used to assess an employee’s ability to manage stress, communication skills, and emotional intelligence.
