The Social Service Committee of PIMSR as a part of Project “PANKH” conducted the CRY, volunteer training programme in Conclave on 5th October, 2023 from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. called “Cyber Smart Heroes”. PIMSR also signed an MOU with CRY for partnering them in training PIMSR students as “Cyber Smart Heroes”.

The aim of the CRY “Cyber Smart Heroes”, volunteer training programme is to build awareness and encourage the safe and responsible use of information in the virtual / cyber world amongst school children. This programme is conducted via schools to prevent and spread awareness about cyber crime and keep school children and subsequently their families safe from criminals, terrorists and other cyber crime committing entities.

PIMSR second year MMS students’ volunteered to attend an orientation on formally registering – to undergo a training programme before officially starting off as a CRY “Cyber Smart Heroes” volunteers under this programme.

The CRY “Cyber Smart Heroes” tarining unfolded with the pedagogy of administering the training through the fun games aimed at keeping the focus and the curiosity of the school children alive and impactful. The CRY “Cyber Smart Heroes” training was imparted through interactive discussion and exposure to most frequent cyber-crimes that are largely prevalent, viz: Phishing and Scam, Gaming, Identity Theft, Ransomware Attack, Hacking / Misusing Computer Networks, Internet Fraud, Cyber Bullying, Cyber Stalking, Software Piracy, Social Media Frauds, Online Drug Trafficking, Electronic Money Laundering, Cyber Extortion, Intellectual-property Infringements and Online Recruitment Fraud.

The CRY “Cyber Smart Heroes” training was attended by the Fifty five Second year MMS students who volunteered to be the CRY “Cyber Smart Heroes” as part of their second year Social Service Project. These PIMSR, CRY “Cyber Smart Heroes” will be administering the training in Mahatma Education Society’s various schools as well as with the other client schools of the CRY as part of their internship program. On successful completion of their internship the CRY “Cyber Smart Heroes” of PIMSR will be awarded with the certificate by the CRY.

The CRY “Cyber Smart Heroes” training was attended with lot of enthusiasm and vigor and the students were equipped to disburse safe and responsible information to school children, so that they don’t fall prey and become victims of cyber crime!
