The meeting held on 23rd November, 2019, in Conclave began promptly at 2:00 pm with a warm welcome from the Director, Dr. Satish Nair. During the event, several alumni interacted with the 2021 batch students and shared their invaluable insights.

Alumni discussed the challenges students face when transitioning from the institution’s campus to the corporate world. They offered tips and strategies to help students overcome these challenges. Alumni shared their own personal experiences in the corporate world and highlighted the significant role these experiences played in shaping their professional perspectives. It was emphasized that discipline is a crucial aspect of professional life. Alumni stressed that certain behaviors, such as punctuality, which may be misinterpreted as bravado, are not tolerated in the industry and can harm one’s career prospects.

The alumni expressed their gratitude and acknowledged the invaluable contribution and support provided by the institution’s faculty, led by Director Dr. Satish Nair, in the overall growth and development of the students. At 4:30 pm, a round table meeting took place in the Director’s office, involving alumni, the Corporate Relations Committee (CRC) team, and the Director. Alumni recommended providing more intensive training in areas such as soft skills, interview techniques, and group discussions to better prepare students for the industry.

Dr. Satish Nair proposed a new mentoring initiative called the “PIMSR’s ABCD initiative for new joiners – Alumni Buddy for Career Development.” This program will involve alumni mentoring one or two current students in a “Buddy-Buddy” framework, with the ultimate goal of making the current students job-ready. To address student apathy towards registering for job offers, some alumni volunteered to return and motivate the students to actively participate in the job-seeking process.

The meeting concluded on a highly positive note, with alumni expressing their continued support and commitment to the institution’s success.
