The Students’ Activities (Co-curricular Committee) organised a Two Day Management Conclave on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd September, 2017. The theme of the conclave was “Emerging Management Paradigms – Expectations from B-school Students and Entrepreneurs”. The conclave was conceptualised to establish an industry-institute interface that would aid in better readying students in their corporate careers. Both first and second year students participated in the Conclave.
The first day of the Conclave had three speakers: Mr. Pankaj Choudhary, Head – Alliances, Capital Market Group, Aditya Birla Finance Limited, Mr. Vishal Thakkar, Co-Founder, Sympan Solutions and Mr. G. S. Baveja, a consultant. Mr. Pankaj Choudhary, inaugurated the Conclave and in his address spoke to the students about the Power of 10X. He spoke about the importance of growing exponentially and catapulting to levels of success that are unimaginable. Mr. Thakkar in his address on “GST – A Friend or a Foe” simplified the technicalities of GST and its implications on businesses. Mr. G. S. Baveja in his talk on “Corporate Sustainability” extolled the importance of sustainable business practices and its role in giving back to the planet from which so much is taken.
The second day of the Conclave had four speakers: Mr. Aditya Mehta, Founder, Edgytal, Mr. Ajit Vora, Consultant, Mr. Manajit Ghoshal, Founder & Managing Director, Orion Consulting and Mr. Milind Kamat, Executive Vice President Sales, TechProcess Payment Services. Mr. Mehta, in his talk on “Digital Disruption in Marketing” spoke about the mould-breaking paradigm shifts taking place in the field of marketing due to the digital revolution. Mr. Ajit Vora discussed on “GST and its Implications on Supply Chain Management”. Mr. Manajit Ghoshal, in his talk on “Dots Connect – Friendship with Numbers” spoke to the students about the importance of analytical skills in deciphering information. Mr. Milind Kamat was the Chief Guest for the valediction. In his address on “Digital: Changing paradigm in the industry and opportunities for B-School grads”. Mr. Kamat spoke about the paradigm shifts in the industry due to digitisation and the opportunities it presents to B-school graduates. The Conclave was well appreciated and attended by the faculty and students of PiMSR.
