The Operations Club of Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research and Pillai Business School successfully hosted Ops Odyssey on 24th February 2025, an event designed to test participants’ time management, material management, strategic thinking, and teamwork skills. The event saw an enthusiastic response from management students eager to showcase their problem-solving abilities and operational expertise in a series of engaging and intellectually stimulating rounds.

The event was structured as an exciting adventure, where participants navigated through different challenges, each focusing on key aspects of operations and supply chain management.

Event Rounds & Activities

Round 1: The General Quiz
The first round tested participants on time management and knowledge through a thrilling quiz competition. The questions were centered around operations, supply chain strategies, Six Sigma, inventory management, and general business knowledge. The round was designed to challenge their quick thinking and decision-making abilities, setting the stage for the next rounds.

Round 2: Boat Making Challenge
Teams moved on to an exciting boat-making task, where they had to construct a model using limited resources. This round emphasized material management, time management, and team coordination. Participants had to think creatively and work efficiently within the given time limit, ensuring their boats were both functional and structurally sound.

Round 3: Airplane Making Challenge
The final challenge tested participants’ engineering creativity and efficiency by tasking them with building a paper airplane. The objective was simple: the team whose airplane flew the farthest would emerge victorious. This round once again highlighted the importance of team coordination, material management, and precision in execution.

Winners & Prizes
The competition saw intense rivalry, with teams putting in their best efforts to secure the top positions. The winners were announced based on their performance across all three rounds
