IIC of Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research in association with PCIE organized a workshop on “Legal Formalities for starting a Business in India” on 26th February, 2022 on an online platform. The resource person for the session was CA Susanna Cherian. Ms. Cherian completed her Chartered Accountancy in the year 2013 and has a Masters of Commerce degree from Mumbai University. She is an Internal Auditor and does consultancy work. She is a mentor for the Business Plan Competition participants of the Pillai Group of Institutions. The objective of the session was to familiarise the students with the various laws and regulations applicable to starting a business in India. The session covered aspects of the Founders’ Agreement, the types of business entities and the licenses / registrations required by the businesses for the various operations. She explained the pros and cons of each type of business entity and also the importance of various documentation to be maintained by the businesses during the course of its operations. 22 students and faculty attended the workshop. It was an interactive session and appreciated by all.
