A Session on “Learning Elementary English Language Skills” was conducted as a part of Project “PANKH” on 4th October, 2023 for the 6th and 7th-grade students from Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School at Podi. The primary objective of this workshop was twofold: firstly, to gauge the students’ linguistic potential and secondly, to alleviate their apprehensions surrounding spoken English while fostering overall personality development. The session commenced by revisiting fundamental concepts, including vowel identification, constructing simple sentences and mastering proper pronunciation—skills initially imparted during the inaugural session. Subsequently, the students engaged in reading a chapter, receiving guidance on challenging vocabulary. They were then introduced to the grammatical concept of ‘articles’ and guided through the nuanced usage of ‘a’, ‘an’ and ‘the’ within sentences. The workshop reached its culmination through a stimulating and interactive brainstorming game, wherein the students actively participated, further enhancing their language skills. The workshop was conducted by our diligent 2nd-year MMS students, namely, Ms. Sakshi Shetty, Ms. Aishwarya Jadhav, Ms. Samiksha Dhuri and Mr. Swapnil Chate.
