On 14th August 2025, at 9:00 a.m., the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research, along with other institutions at the Pillai Panvel Campus, organized the 78th Independence Day celebrations under the banner of Azadi ka Amritkal 2025 at the Quad Area, Pillai Panvel Campus. The objective of the session was to instill national pride, honor the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The idea was to encourage faculty and students to commit themselves to the values of freedom, democracy, and societal development. The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by the Chief Guest, Prof. Kavita Baddi, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Students presented traditional dances and patriotic songs that showcased India’s rich cultural heritage. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, paying tribute to the leaders of the independence movement and highlighting the nation’s journey of progress and development.
As part of the community outreach initiative, school children from nearby Zilla Parishad schools were invited to participate, adding joy, inclusiveness, and a sense of shared celebration to the event. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from 156 students and 73 faculty members, who came together to reflect the spirit of unity and patriotism. For MMS students, the key learning outcome was developing a deeper appreciation of India’s freedom struggle and understanding the importance of values like unity, democracy, and responsibility towards society. The celebration concluded with the distribution of snacks and sweets, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and national pride.
