Gopal, Registrar, who emphasized the importance of such induction sessions in helping faculty align with the institute’s values, academic culture, and operational practices. He highlighted the spirit of collaboration, continuous learning, and the role of faculty in shaping responsible and engaged learners.
Following the welcome, Dr. R. Chandran, Director of the Institution, addressed the gathering with a thought-provoking talk on the teaching-learning process. He stressed the importance of adopting best practices in pedagogy, ensuring active student engagement, and conducting fair and effective assessments. He encouraged faculty to create interactive learning environments and maintain a high standard of academic delivery. Dr. Chandran also shared that the institute follows a family-like approach where mutual respect, support, and cooperation among staff are strongly encouraged.
After the Director’s address, Dr. Gopal invited all faculty members to introduce themselves. Each faculty member gave a brief overview of their academic background, area of specialization, and prior experience, which fostered a sense of connection and camaraderie among the team. This was followed by a session from Dr. Betty Sibil, Academic Head, who gave a detailed explanation of the academic framework, including the semester structure, feedback mechanisms, and faculty responsibilities. She also discussed the various institutional and academic committees in which faculty members are expected to participate actively.
Dr. Ashish Tripathi then provided an overview of the administrative systems, with a special focus on the Management Information System (MIS), leave management procedures, and the examination process. He informed the attendees that special training would be provided to new faculty members to help them navigate the MIS platform and manage academic documentation efficiently.
In the concluding segment, Dr. Gopal informed the faculty about various institutional resources available for their academic and professional growth. He spoke about the provision of Research Funds to support faculty-led research projects, the availability of the Business Simulation Lab to enhance experiential learning, and access to the Business Standard App as a useful tool for staying updated with industry trends and business news.
