On 8th March, 2022, the Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research’s Social Service Committee celebrated International Women’s Day by organizing a talk on this year’s theme #BreakTheBias. Dr. Vaijayanti Pandit, Independent Director of Auto, Energy and Textile Companies was the event’s keynote speaker.
Dr. Vaijayanti Pandit is the Former Advisor of Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Vice President, Public Affairs, Adfactors PR, Sr. Director FICCI, Sr. Executive Indian Merchants’ Chamber etc. She has won multiple awards like the Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar for outstanding research in Entrepreneurship. In 1992 she was commissioned by ILO Geneva for a project on “Integrating Women in Economic and Social Development”.
Dr. Vaijayanti’s outstanding presentation, “#BreakTheBias, Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” focused on the current state of women’s employment in India, the need to break the bias that exists in our society and strategies for breaking the bias. The audience responded positively to the talk, which was followed by a Q&A session.
