5th Global Conference of Management, Commerce and Economics

Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research organised its 5th Global Conference on the theme “Managing Business in India – An Emerging Economy” on 19th November, 2016 at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, New Panvel. Mr. Amit Kumar ghosh, head (Manufacturing Operations), Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API). Speciality Chemicals was the Chief Guest for the conference. During his keynote address Mr. Ghosh spoke about the challenges and opportunities of managing business in India. The foremost challenge was the legal and tax framework which was cumbersome and multilayered. But at the same time, opportunities to start businesses were huge due to the demographic advantage and the multiple problems in India that require solutions. He also spoke about the technological revolution that was sweeping across the world and urged students to take advantage of the same. Dr. Seema Somani, Professor at Pillai College of Arts, Commerce & Science was the moderator for the conference. Many research papers were presented at the conference. Certiifcates were distributed to all participants after the conference.
