On 7th August 2025, a session was conducted to ignite minds, bridge gaps, and create meaningful connections between academia and industry. Hosted at the elegant Hotel Tunga in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, this was no ordinary event. It was the Innovation Ignition Meet, a joint initiative between the IIC of Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research (PIMSR) and Mind Power Consultancy.

The session was designed to prepare students for the transition from campus life to the corporate world, while also exposing them to the start-up and innovation ecosystem. It aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and corporate/start-up expectations by focusing on essential aspects such as communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, innovation-driven thinking, and workplace etiquette.

The event featured interactive discussions, case-based learning, and real-world corporate and entrepreneurial scenarios. Students also gained insights into how mentorship support from experts and innovation ambassadors can shape their journey from management students to future professionals and entrepreneurs.

A key takeaway for students was the understanding that technical knowledge alone is not sufficient for success. Instead, soft skills, corporate etiquette, innovation, adaptability, and a growth mindset play a critical role in building a sustainable career—whether climbing the corporate ladder or taking an entrepreneurial leap.

The session witnessed active participation from 25 MMS students and 4 faculty members and 4 external guests, who expressed enthusiasm about developing their personal competencies, industry readiness, and entrepreneurial outlook. The summit inspired students to focus on holistic growth—balancing academic learning with innovation, mentorship, and professional preparedness—thereby equipping them to excel in internships, placements, and long-term career aspirations.
