MBA students at Pillai College of Management Studies and Research recently participated in a high-impact session led by Mr. Shrinivas Mendu, CEO – Private Wealth, FundsIndia, on 10th November, 2025, at 11:15 a.m., focused on the critical theme: “The 8th Wonder of the World: The Science and Magic of Compounding Wealth“. The session focused on building significant, sustainable wealth through behavioural discipline rather than complex market timing.
Mr. Mendu introduced the power of compounding as the “8th wonder”. He emphasized the foundational principle: “Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving”. This disciplined consistency, applied over time, was advised to be best implemented through Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs). For core portfolio growth, he advised concentrating on Equity by owning “India’s best companies”.
Concluding with a roadmap for development, the session by Mr. Mendu stressed that portfolio construction should adhere to the “5 Finger Strategy,” prioritizing simplicity and diversification across Value, Global, Quality, and Size categories. By committing to these pillars of behavioural finance and strategic diversification, the students received a clear directive to build their long-term wealth.
