On 11th August 2025, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) members of Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research (PIMSR) organized a session on Entrepreneurial Perspectives in the Changing Global Economic Environment for first-year MMS students. The session was conducted by Prof. Shubendhu Bhattacharya and Prof. Prasenjit Yesambare, who shared valuable insights on global economic transformations and their impact on businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurial ventures.
The objective of the session was to help students understand international economic trends, challenges, and opportunities, while emphasizing how global shifts in trade, finance, technology, and geopolitics affect not only corporate strategies but also entrepreneurial decision-making. The discussion explored globalization, supply chain dynamics, emerging markets, sustainability concerns, and the growing role of technology in reshaping economies. Special focus was placed on how entrepreneurs can identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and innovate in response to these global shifts.
The session encouraged students to look beyond traditional management careers and consider how entrepreneurial thinking and innovation-driven approaches can create new pathways in a volatile global economy. Attended by 97 students and 3 faculty members, the session enhanced their awareness of the interconnectedness of global economies and the importance of agility, adaptability, and innovation in navigating uncertainty.
A key learning outcome was that future managers and entrepreneurs must stay informed about international developments to make sound business decisions and explore opportunities for India’s strategic positioning in the evolving global economic landscape. The session also reinforced that entrepreneurship, backed by global awareness, is a vital driver of prosperity in today’s interconnected world.
