As part of Project ‘PANKH’, the Social Service Committee of Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research (PIMSR) conducted an engaging Session on English Grammar and Vocabulary on 24th September, 2025 for the students of Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School, Podi. The primary objective of the session was to enhance foundational English language skills, particularly in grammar and vocabulary, thereby supporting the students’ academic development and boosting their confidence in communication.
The session, facilitated by MMS Second Year students Ms. Avantika, Ms. Vidula and Mr. Saurabh began with a warm round of introductions, allowing students to become comfortable and involved. The focus was on teaching the concept of opposites, their meanings, and practical usage. In addition, the students were guided through basic English lessons from their 7th Standard textbook to strengthen their reading abilities. A key highlight of the session was an interactive vocabulary game where children enthusiastically participated in identifying opposite words, which not only reinforced their learning but also made the session enjoyable and memorable.
The impact of the session was evident in the students’ active participation and enthusiastic feedback. The interactive approach helped create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, enabling students to learn by doing, thus making the concepts more relatable and easier to retain. Through this initiative, the schoolchildren gained improved reading and vocabulary skills, and a renewed interest in English language learning. The session was a small but meaningful step toward empowering young minds with the tools of effective communication and self-expression.
