Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research, through its Social Service Committee under Project PANKH, organized an educational outreach session on English and History Reading for the students of Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School, Podi, on 29th January 2026. The session was conducted as part of the institute’s ongoing efforts toward community engagement and social responsibility, with a focus on strengthening students’ reading skills across multiple subjects.

Recognizing the importance of reading proficiency in academic achievement, the session was designed to provide a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students could practice and improve their reading abilities. The session was conducted for students of the 6th and 8th standards, ensuring age-appropriate interaction and subject understanding.

The session commenced with student self-introductions, which helped create a comfortable and interactive classroom atmosphere. This was followed by reading passages from the English textbook, where students were encouraged to read aloud. Important words and their meanings were explained in simple language to help students comprehend the lesson more effectively and improve their pronunciation and fluency.

In addition to English reading, students were guided through selected chapters from their History textbook. Key historical terms and concepts were explained to enhance their understanding of the subject matter. To further reinforce learning, a small activity was conducted in which students were asked to locate specific words in the textbook and complete their spellings. This activity helped improve their vocabulary, observation skills, and attentiveness while reading.

The students actively participated throughout the session and responded positively to the interactive teaching approach adopted by the facilitators. They expressed enjoyment while engaging in reading and activity-based exercises, which contributed to a lively and effective learning experience.

Overall, the session was informative and engaging and proved beneficial in strengthening the English and History reading skills of the students. The initiative contributed positively to their academic development and reflected the commitment of Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research to meaningful educational outreach through Project PANKH.

The session was conducted by MBA students of Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research, namely Ms. Vrushika Shelar, Ms. Charmi Chandra, Mr. Sujal Gangan, and Mr. Harshwardhan Shelke.
