MBA students at Pillai College of Management Studies and Research recently participated in a high-impact interactive session led by Mr. Ketan Vira, on 10th November 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. focused on the critical theme of the “Employability Disconnect.” The seminar examined the friction between rapidly evolving corporate demands—specifically the need for agility and real-world problem-solving—and the professional reality of Gen Z aspirations.
The session helped the students to draw a significant distinction between the “skills gap” and the “expectation gap,” highlighting that misaligned workplace behaviours often create the biggest hurdles. To bridge this divide, students were encouraged to develop a resilient mindset and stay updated with emerging technologies.
Mr. Veera emphasized the importance of fieldwork, the advent of AI and real-world exposure, noting that practical experience is just as vital as classroom learning in demonstrating professional capability.
Concluding with a roadmap for development, Mr. Ketan stressed on the cultivation of strong skill sets and interpersonal skills. He emphasized the importance of adaptability to change. By committing to lifelong learning and maintaining self-awareness, students can effectively align their passions with professional performance, ensuring they graduate as industry-ready managers.
