Students of PiMSR enthusiastically participated in the River Cleaning Drive at Kalundre River front, Panvel on 11th January, 2020. The river cleaning initiative was preceded by a tree plantation drive. The main aim of the drive was to raise awareness on the need to protect the environment from further pollution. Sahil More, a student of PiMSR took the lead and briefed students about the harmful impact of throwing waste into the river. After the talk, the students joined the PMC Cleaning Team to clean the river. The collected trash was sorted in two different bins; one for biodegradable and one for non-biodegradable waste. The programme concluded with all participants taking an oath to protect the environment. The chief guest for the event were Tejas Kandpile, Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) corporator; former corporator Subhash Bhujbal; Gourav Hingane, assistant engineer with CIDCO Panvel; Shailesh Gaikwad, health inspector at PMC; Arun Kamble, sanitary inspector PMC; and Rakesh Bhujbal of PMC. Faculty memebrs, Mrs. Deepika Sharma, Mr. Bhagwan More, Dr. Celina Joy, and Dr, Betty Sibil felicitated the guests.
