On 21st August 2025, the second-year MMS students from the Social Service Committee of Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research (PIMSR), in collaboration with Soroptimist International, officially launched the third year of Project “PANKH” at Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School, Podi.
The event began with Dr. Celina and Dr. Betty addressing the students of 6th and 7th standards, sharing the vision and strategic purpose behind Soroptimist’s commitment to social upliftment and education. This was followed by Dr. Krushna R. Sawant, who highlighted the objectives of the Social Service Committee and elaborated on the meaningful collaboration with Soroptimist, emphasizing the positive societal impact and shared values driving this initiative.
As part of the launch, MMS students conducted a workshop on basic English grammar and vocabulary for the students of the school. Recognizing the vital role communication plays in academic and personal growth, the session aimed to provide a supportive and engaging environment for students to enhance their language skills.
The session opened with brief introductions, followed by interactive learning activities. Students of the 5th standard enthusiastically participated by reading a poem aloud—an exercise that improved their pronunciation, confidence, and expressive abilities. They were also taught words and numbers through interactive games, blending fun with focused learning.
These thoughtfully designed activities aimed to:
- Build vocabulary
- Strengthen memory
- Foster confidence in using English in daily life
The interactive format encouraged active student participation, turning the classroom into a dynamic space for learning. Students expressed genuine enjoyment, particularly in playing the games and reading the poem, and appreciated the opportunity to develop their English skills in an enjoyable manner.
The workshop was successfully conducted by MMS students: Ms. Anushka Kharade Ms. Chaitrali Baraokar Mr. Akash Wagh
The session marked yet another step toward empowering young minds and strengthening the institute’s ongoing commitment to community development through education.
