The Alumni Outreach Committee of Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research (PIMSR), Pillai University successfully hosted PIMSR Legacy Connect 2026, bringing together distinguished alumni from the 2001 batch for a meaningful day of connection, reflection, and knowledge sharing.

The institute was privileged to welcome its esteemed alumni — Surendar Singh Garewal, Chaitanya Sapkal, Baiju Budhwani, Vivek Raizada, and Vaibhav Bhosle — who returned to campus to reconnect with their alma mater and engage with the current MBA student community.

The day began with Chai Pe Charcha, setting a warm and nostalgic tone as alumni reconnected with faculty members and students while sharing memories from their time at PIMSR.

The formal proceedings commenced with an address by Dr. Niteen Pawar, followed by an inspiring address by Dr. R. Chandran, Director, PIMSR. In his address, Dr. Chandran emphasized the importance of sustaining institutional legacy, leadership, and continued engagement between alumni and the academic community.

During the session, the alumni shared reflections from their time at PIMSR, revisiting cherished memories and offering insights into how their management education helped shape their professional journeys.

The highlight of the event was the engaging panel discussion titled “THEN & NOW – Corporate Evolution, Careers & The PIMSR Legacy.” The discussion explored the evolving corporate landscape, the changing dynamics of management education, and the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in today’s professional world.

This was followed by a Student–Alumni Q&A Interaction, where MBA students had the opportunity to engage directly with the alumni, gaining valuable perspectives on career paths, industry expectations, and professional growth.

The event concluded with lunch, after which the alumni were taken on a campus tour, allowing them to revisit familiar spaces and witness the vibrant growth and development of the institution. The day culminated with a meeting with Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai, Chairman, Mahatma Education Society, further strengthening the bond between the institution and its alumni community.

PIMSR extends its sincere gratitude to the alumni for their presence, insights, and continued association with the institute. Their engagement reflects the enduring strength of the PIMSR legacy and its commitment to nurturing meaningful relationships across generations of management professionals.
