Date: 10th September 2025
Topic: Campus To Corporate
Trainer: Mr. Mahesh
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Participants: 230

The Session commenced with a briefing on the Vision and Mission of PIMSR, highlighting the statement: “Creation of Competitive Managers for the Borderless Business World.”

An interactive icebreaker activity followed, designed to encourage socialization and effective communication. Students were given a sheet containing questions about the qualities and descriptions of their classmates. To complete the task, they were required to interact with one another, fostering engagement and breaking the initial silence. Five students, selected on a first-come-first-serve basis, introduced themselves to the class. This activity emphasized the significance of a simple smile and the ability to manage emotions while addressing a large audience.

The session then introduced participants to various codes of communication, including verbal, prosodic, paralinguistic, and kinesics, broadening their understanding of how communication extends beyond words. Another engaging exercise, the Description–Interpretation Activity, highlighted the importance of listening and observing non-verbal cues. In this task, one student described a shape for another to draw, revealing how easily messages can be misinterpreted without careful attention to both verbal and non-verbal communication. A reflective activity titled Imagining the First Day at Work encouraged students to visualize their future professional environments, promoting clarity of expression and confidence when speaking in public.

Active participation was further motivated by awarding chocolates to students who contributed enthusiastically, reinforcing the value of stepping out of comfort zones, taking initiative, and speaking with confidence.

The session concluded with practical insights on posture, dressing etiquette, body language, conversation starters, and other essential elements of effective communication. A consistent emphasis was placed on maintaining a pleasant smile to enhance confidence and connection.
