The Faculty Seminar Series under the aegis of MES Research Forum was conducted on 27th September, 2018 at Conclave, Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus. Dr. Geeta Balakrishnan, Ex-Principal, College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan was the Chief Guest.
In her key note address, she shared her rich learnings and experiences in research gathered throughout her academic career. She spoke about the importance of doing qualitative research and emphasized on creating an institution wide ethics committee to monitor all research work. She shared many tips on research networking and bouncing off ideas among teams for feedback to improve on the quality of research. Dr. Sally Enos, Principal, Pillai College of Education & Research, Panvel was the Chief Moderator for the Forum along with Dr. Balakrishnan. In her summary of the proceedings Dr. Enos spoke about the rigor of research and opined that all researchers should focus on the conceptual and operational definitions of research in their presentations for better understanding of their work. Nine research papers in the streams of literature, education, architecture, biotechnology and engineering were presented at the forum. The Forum was attended by faculty and students of the various institutions of Mahatma Education Society. The Seminar was co-ordinated by Dr. Celina Joy, Chairperson, MES Research Forum and Professor – Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research and Dr. Betty Sibil – Secretary, MES Research Forum and Associate Professor – Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research.
