MBA Induction Program – Day 05

Introduction
The fifth day of the induction program at Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research was held on 16th September 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The day was designed to provide students with a blend of learning, interaction, and cultural engagement. Sessions focused on preparing students for the corporate world and enhancing their analytical skills. In addition, the celebration of Hindi Divas added a cultural and creative dimension to the day. It was truly a perfect combination of professional learning and cultural pride.

Morning Session: Campus to Corporate
The morning session, titled Campus to Corporate, was conducted by Prof. Bharati. She began the session by explaining the significance of storytelling in the corporate world. According to her, storytelling is not just an art but also a powerful tool that helps professionals influence, persuade, and connect with people in organizations. She emphasized how stories can simplify complex ideas and leave a lasting impact on listeners, whether in presentations, meetings, or leadership roles.

To make the session engaging, Prof. Bharati introduced an interactive storytelling activity. Students were divided into groups of five and each group was given a list of twenty-five words. Using these words, every group was tasked with creating and narrating a story. This exercise challenged students to think creatively, work as a team, and present confidently within a short span of time. Each group came forward to share their stories, which turned out to be innovative, humorous, and thought-provoking.

Afternoon Session: Decode and Decide – The Case Challenge
The afternoon session, Decode and Decide: The Case Challenge, was conducted in the auditorium and brought together all management students for an intellectually stimulating seminar. The purpose of the session was to develop analytical skills and prepare students for real-world decision-making. The professor leading the session explained how managers often face complex business problems and are required to analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and make informed decisions.

Students were assigned a business case to analyze. The cases were based on real-life scenarios, which made the exercise highly relevant to their future careers. Each one discussed the issues, identified problems, and worked together to propose solutions. The process involved evaluating data, applying management concepts, and thinking critically. The professor guided the students on how to approach case analysis with logical reasoning and structured frameworks.

The seminar proved to be an excellent platform for bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application. Students realized the importance of making quick yet well-reasoned decisions, much like in real corporate situations. The session sharpened their analytical skills, boosted confidence, and reinforced the value of working collaboratively to solve business challenges.

Hindi Divas Celebration
The latter part of the day was dedicated to celebrating Hindi Divas, and the atmosphere at the institute was vibrant and festive. The celebration began with a Management Quiz conducted entirely in Hindi. Students enthusiastically participated, answering business-related questions and demonstrating their knowledge while also experiencing the richness of Hindi as professional language. The quiz encouraged them to think beyond textbooks and engage with management concepts in a new and refreshing manner.

Following the quiz, an Elocution Contest was organized where students delivered speeches on varied themes in Hindi. The participants impressed the audience with their confidence, fluency, and ability to articulate ideas clearly. This event provided an excellent opportunity to practice public speaking and boosted the self-assurance of many students.

The celebration continued with a poetry and shayari recital, where students showcased their creativity through expressive and heartfelt verses. Poems touched upon themes of patriotism, culture, and student life, while shayaris added a touch of wit and charm. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause, appreciating the creativity on display.

The most entertaining part of the celebration was the Ad-Mad Show. Teams were asked to create advertisements in Hindi, and the results were highly creative and humorous. Students acted with full energy, presenting innovative ideas that kept the audience engaged and entertained. Teachers and peers alike praised their effort and imagination.

Conclusion
Day 5 of the induction program was a meaningful blend of learning and celebration. The sessions gave students exposure to essential managerial skills while also nurturing creativity. The storytelling activity built confidence in communication and teamwork. The case challenge enhanced problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making. Hindi Divas added color and vibrancy to the day’s schedule. Activities like quiz, elocution, poetry, and Ad-Mad Show encouraged cultural pride. Students actively participated with enthusiasm and energy. Faculty members appreciated their efforts and creativity.

MBA Induction Program – Day 05

Date: 15th September, 2025

Introduction
The MBA Induction Program on 15th September was designed to prepare students for both professional and personal growth. The day combined corporate-oriented training with wellness activities, ensuring a balanced experience of learning and relaxation.

Morning Session – Mastering Presentation and Communication Skills
The morning session was part of the Campus to Corporate Training Program, where Bharti Vaish emphasized the importance of mastering presentation and communication skills for placements. She explained how effective communication is a key factor during group discussions, personal interviews, and corporate presentations, as it helps candidates stand out with clarity and confidence.

Students were introduced to the key components of impactful presentations, including:

  • Clarity of Topic: delivering a strong introduction and conclusion.
  • Flow of Ideas: presenting thoughts in a logical and structured manner.
  • Audience Engagement: maintaining eye contact, voice modulation, and interactive delivery.

A special focus was placed on the TFA Rule – Topic, Flow, Audience, which serves as the foundation of any successful presentation. Ma’am also highlighted the significance of body language, confidence, and time management, which are vital in placement scenarios.

To reinforce these learnings, students were divided into groups of 4–5 and asked to present on random topics. This exercise helped them practice teamwork, creativity, quick thinking, and forethought speaking skills, preparing them for real-world corporate situations where adaptability and presence of mind are essential.

Afternoon & Evening Session – Wellness, Games, and Meditation
After a delicious lunch, the afternoon began with engaging activities such as tug of war and other fun games, which boosted energy, teamwork, and bonding among students.

Later, the focus shifted to well-being with a 50-minute guided meditation session held in the hall. This session was deeply refreshing and helped students relax their minds, improve focus, and relieve stress after the day’s activities. The program concluded with tea being served as refreshment, leaving everyone energized and satisfied.

Conclusion
Day 5 of the induction program was a perfect blend of corporate learning and personal wellness. The morning session equipped students with essential skills for placements by focusing on communication, presentation, and adaptability. The afternoon and evening sessions, filled with games and meditation, promoted physical activity, mindfulness, and relaxation. The meditation session, guided by Dr. Navideta Shreyans, was especially impactful in helping students achieve calmness and mental clarity. Overall, the day proved to be both productive and rejuvenating.

MBA Induction Program – Day 03

Date: 12th September, 2025

Introduction
The MBA Induction Program on 12th September aimed to provide academic, technological, and personal development exposure. Sessions were scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Morning Session – Campus to Corporate Training Program
The first session, Campus to Corporate by Prof. Radhika Ahuja, focused on vision and mission statements, communication bias, upward and downward communication, and managerial approaches. She also taught public speaking and group discussion, where students delivered speeches and participated in activities, which boosted confidence and enhanced workplace communication skills. Many students who initially had stage fear took this opportunity to step forward and participate in speech delivery and group discussions. Under the guidance provided during the session, they attempted to overcome their hesitation and gradually built the confidence to express their ideas in front of an audience.

Afternoon Session – Startup Idea Pitch Perfect: The Startup Arena
The session was led by Prof. VINOD and Prof. ANIL, who provided a structured overview of the key steps involved in building a startup. They highlighted real-world insights with the example of RedBus founder Mr. Phanindra Sama, emphasizing how innovative ideas can be scaled into successful ventures. To encourage interaction, the professors engaged students in discussions about their goals and potential business ideas. Senior students further presented their Instagram-based news platform, which combines information with humor and creativity, as a live example of student entrepreneurship. The session concluded by fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among participants, motivating them to transform ideas into actionable ventures.

Evening Session – Wellness and Meditation
The final day of the Wellness and Meditation program concluded with a guided session by Dr. Nivedita Shreyans. The session enabled participants to relax, reduce stress, and regain focus. Dr. Shreyans further guided the students on tackling personal challenges, overcoming overthinking, developing self-confidence, and improving sleep quality. Some participants later provided feedback, mentioning that after following her advice, they experienced noticeable improvements, such as better quality of sleep and a calmer state of mind. The willingness of students to share their problems, coupled with the constructive guidance offered by the trainer, made this session more interactive, supportive, and impactful for personal as well as professional development.

Conclusion
The one-day program effectively combined corporate readiness, entrepreneurial awareness, and personal well-being into a holistic learning experience. From enhancing communication and presentation skills in the “Campus to Corporate” session by Ms. Radhika Ahuja, to gaining insights into startup development through the “Startup India Pitch Perfect – The Startup Arena” led by Prof. VINOD and Prof. ANIL, and finally learning stress management and mindfulness techniques in the “Wellness and Meditation” session by Dr. Nivedita Shreyans, students received valuable knowledge and practical exposure. The program not only strengthened their workplace competencies but also inspired entrepreneurial thinking and encouraged personal growth, preparing them for success in academic and professional journeys ahead.
