The Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research through its Social Service Committee under Project PANKH organized a session on Mathematics and English on Thursday, 12th February 2026, for the students of 8th Standard at Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School. The initiative was undertaken as part of the institute’s continued commitment to community engagement and academic support for school students.

The primary objective of the session was to strengthen students’ fundamental concepts in Mathematics and English while making the learning process simple, interactive, and enjoyable. The program aimed to enhance conceptual clarity, build confidence in problem-solving, and improve basic language skills through participative activities and guided learning.

The session commenced with a warm and friendly introduction to create a comfortable and interactive environment. Establishing rapport with the students helped in encouraging open communication and active participation throughout the session. The Mathematics segment was conducted first, focusing on basic multiplication concepts. A quiz-based activity was organized in an engaging manner where students were encouraged to answer questions confidently. In addition to solving the problems, an easy and quick multiplication technique was demonstrated to help them approach calculations more efficiently. Each solution was explained step-by-step in simple language to ensure clarity of understanding and reinforce their foundational knowledge.

Following the Mathematics activity, the session progressed to the English segment. In this part, simple sentences were spoken in Hindi, and students were asked to translate them into English. The activity encouraged them to think independently and attempt sentence formation on their own. Wherever required, guidance was provided in grammar usage, correct sentence structure, and spelling. This interactive approach enabled students to better understand sentence construction and gradually build confidence in communicating in English.

The session was lively and interactive, with enthusiastic participation from the students. Their willingness to respond, ask questions, and engage in activities reflected their interest in learning. The initiative proved to be a meaningful experience, contributing positively to their academic development while also providing MBA students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge and social responsibility in a practical setting.

Key learnings and takeaways from the session included the importance of simplifying complex concepts for better comprehension, the effectiveness of activity-based learning in sustaining student interest, and the value of building confidence through encouragement and constructive guidance. The experience also highlighted how small academic interventions can create a significant impact on students’ motivation and understanding.

The session was successfully conducted by MBA students Ms. Sandhyarani Sabat, Ms. Anjalee Nishad, Mr. Harshwardhan Shelke, and Mr. Nawaz Shaikh, whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth execution and positive outcome of the program.
