PiMSR organized an Industrial Visit to Seabird Marine Services for its MMS students on 25th March, 2017. Seabird is a Container Freight Station (CFS) promoted by the Parekh Group.

43 students visited the container freight station. Dr. Vivekanand Pawar and Prof. Balashankar R. accompanied the students. Mr. Arup Ghosh, GM (Admin), explained the various activities that were a part of CFS operations. The students also got the opportunity to see the container yard with a provision for 620 ground slots which translates to a holding capacity of 6000 tonnes at all times.
The students visited the warehousing facility of the company. Encompassing a total area of 9000 sq.m., it has dedicated 3500 sq.m. for exports while the balance area of 5500 sq.m. is for handling imports.
Built on a ground + 2 floors plan it is well supported by three heavy duty lifts and also a few industrial standard elevators. The visit was an enriching experience for all students.
