A special Guest Lecture on “An introduction to Six Sigma : Quality Process and Performance” was conducted by the Operations Club committee for First year MBA students at the auditorium of Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research on Wednesday, 29th October 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Guest Speaker was Mr. Akhil Suresh, Alumni from the 2017 batch from the operations specialisation stream. The session provided valuable insights into six sigma principles and their application to Quality management and their contribution to continuous improvements across industries.
Mr. Akhil Suresh is an MMS from PIMSR, and he also has an executive MBA from IIM Kozhikode and is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He is an Operations Excellence Expert in FMCG, Diagnostics, Pharma & QSR. Worked in implementation of Transportation management system and working across digital and Procurement Transformation across various organizations. His forte is in Cost Optimization and Process and Worked across organizations like Box8 now eat club brands:QSR Ninjacart (Flipkart and Walmart owned) TVS Supply Chain & Thyrocare
The Session was highly engaging, with active student participation that strengthened their understanding of data-driven quality tools and their application in real-world processes. It enriched our MBA learners with practical perspectives on how systematic quality initiatives can drive defect reduction, process excellence and a culture of ongoing improvement.
