Date: 8th & 9th July 2025
Venue: PIMSR (Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research) Business Lab.
The Faculty Development Program on CESIM FIRM Simulation Training was successfully conducted on 8th and 9th July 2025 at Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research. A total of 18 faculty members participated in the training, which was aimed at equipping them with the knowledge and skills to deliver CESIM business simulation exercises effectively to students.
The FDP was facilitated by two expert trainers — Mr. Prinjin Philip and Ms. Surbhi Jha, who guided the participants through the intricacies of the CESIM FIRM simulation platform.
Faculty members were organized into teams of 2–3 members each, simulating a real-world corporate decision-making environment. The program followed a Train-the-Trainer (TTT) format, structured over two days:
- Day 1: Participants experienced the simulation as learners. The trainers provided a walkthrough of the CESIM simulation, explaining the platform interface, rules, and objectives. Faculty teams then played one round of the simulation, taking strategic and operational decisions for their virtual companies.
- Day 2: The session focused on result analysis and instructor account management. Faculty members reviewed their performance, analyzed the simulation outcomes, and learned how to interpret the results effectively. The trainers also demonstrated how to set up and manage simulation sessions as instructors for student groups.
The FDP provided hands-on experience and a deep understanding of how to facilitate CESIM simulations in the classroom. The interactive and experiential nature of the training enabled the faculty to appreciate the strategic thinking and decision-making skills that students can develop through simulation-based learning.
Overall, the program was highly engaging and enriching, equipping the faculty with the competence to integrate CESIM FIRM simulation exercises into their teaching methodology and to train students effectively.
