As part of Project ‘PANKH,’ the Social Service Committee volunteers from PiMSR conducted an engaging session on “Enhancing English Proficiency and Basic English Grammar” at Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School in Podi on 27th February, 2025. The objective of the session was to improve the students’ English language skills through interactive and enjoyable methods.

The session began with a poem reading exercise aimed at building students’ confidence in public speaking and enhancing their pronunciation skills.

For the 5th-grade students, the focus was on verbs, specifically using them correctly in sentences. The exercises helped students grasp the concept of action words and improve their sentence construction and comprehension abilities.

For the 7th-grade students, the session kicked off with story reading to enhance their reading fluency and comprehension. This was followed by an in-depth lesson on parts of speech, including conjunctions, verbs, adverbs, nouns, pronouns, and adjectives. To make learning more engaging, students participated in a fun-filled game and a friendly competition between two teams, reinforcing their understanding of grammar concepts in a lively and enjoyable way.

Learning Outcomes:

  • 5th-grade students gained confidence in using verbs accurately and improved their sentence construction skills.
  • 7th-grade students deepened their understanding of parts of speech, learned to apply grammar rules effectively, and developed teamwork skills through the competitive activities.

The session was successfully conducted by MMS students: Ms. Akshada Rajkar, Ms. Haritha Menon, Ms. Mansi Kamathe, and Mr. Akash Wagh.
