Enhanced Competency Seminar on the 10th August, 2024 (Saturday between 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) at Pillai College of Management & Research, Panvel, Navi Mumbai

The said seminar was designed / developed / organized by Mr. Iyer Subramanian, Consultant, Speaker, Author of Mind Power – Consulting in association with Pillai College of Management Studies & Research. The Teachers, Professors and the Students of Management played an active role to provide immense value.

The speaker emphasized the importance of education, exposure, and experience for both individual and organizational success. He highlighted the need for continuous learning and adaptation, and also the role of self-awareness in career development. The speaker shared his insights on interviewing and career opportunities at Reliance Jio.

Mr. Bharat Mehta VP – Pet Marketing, Reliance Industries Ltd

Mr. Bharat emphasized the urgent need to reduce carbon footprint and the positive impact of the “Waste from Wealth Project.” He highlighted the importance of sustainability in the long-term success of organizations, and the role of AI in improving the supply chain process. In today’s times one of the high paying skills is to handle intelligent machines / technology at work.

Mr. Vinay Kirloskar Management Consultant, Compliance Specialist, Coach

The speaker began with a story about a monkey to emphasize the importance of recognizing those traits / qualities / behavior we have in common. He discussed the importance of interpersonal skills, including communication, active listening, participation and the general awareness of emotional intelligence in the professional arena. He also highlighted the significance of learning, discipline, and empathy in professional management.

Mr. Alois Wadhwa, Senior Manager Operations, Infosys BPM

The speaker discussed the four steps to effective decision – making and the various conflict modes. He stressed the importance of open-mindedness and allowing others to showcase their own opinions, even if amounts to disagreements amongst members.

Perspectives On – High Paying Jobs Require High Paying Skills – Panel Discussion

The panel comprising of Chairman Prof. Vijayan from We School along with other panelist members consisting of Mr. Bharat Metha, Reliance Industries Limited, Mr. Durgesh Deshpande, Reliance Jio, Ms. Sujata Ranjan, Century Enka, Dr. Gopalkrishnan, Pimsr, Dr. K.G.S. Mani, Ex Professor of Pimsr and Mr. Alois Wadhwa, Infosys Limited discussed the essentials of competency, knowledge, skills, and attitude in today’s competitive job arena. The Chairman of the Panel was of the view that high paying jobs necessarily require high paying skills; what value does the employee concerned bring to the table with his high value skills is what finally matters.

The Panelist emphasized the need for continuous learning, adaptation, and a strong work ethics while discharging their functions individually or collectively. They also pointed out the impact of technology and how the employees are able to contribute increasingly in their roles which brings laurels to the organization.

Each of the members cited the importance of developing essential skills such as Business Communication, Creativity and Innovation, Negotiation, Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills. These skills if mastered and demonstrated at the workplace shall pay rich dividends to both employers and employees in terms of profitability to the organization & career up gradation for employees.

Each of the panel members highlighted that in addition to the technical, management and leadership competence, every individual must possess the traits of positive attitude, passion, and resilience to build their career.

In other words, high paying skills necessarily mean technical skills, business skills, creative skills, soft skills. Acquiring these skills lead to lucrative job opportunities, career advancement and financial stability. To remain and stay updated with industry trends and continuously sharpening your skills and competencies is in self will provide high paying jobs / openings / advancement to clearly stay ahead.
