The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) organized a session for MMS students on November 26, 2024, as part of the Future Ready Skills Lab Workshop at the Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration (CIBA) in Navi Mumbai. The session, led by Mr. Sagar Ranshoor (Head of Incubation at CIBA), introduced students to the functions of CIBA and explored various aspects of entrepreneurship and startups in India. Topics included understanding startups, the challenges of entrepreneurship, the role of incubation centres, and the importance of risk-taking and mentorship. A guided tour of the CIBA office further enriched the experience.
The discussion emphasized identifying business types, validating ideas, and creating prototypes as steps for aspiring entrepreneurs. Mr. Sagar highlighted CIBA’s contributions, including mentorship, infrastructure, and funding support, while sharing statistics on its impact, such as supporting 77 startups and raising significant funding. The session concluded with advice from Prof. Anil Jadwani, encouraging students to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, regardless of their career paths, to embrace innovation and growth.
The visit to CIBA provided comprehensive insights on Startups in India, Entrepreneurship Development. The session concluded with few words of wisdom by Prof. Anil Jadwani, “Even if we do not want to become entrepreneurs, we as individuals should always have an entrepreneurial mindset”.
