Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research partnered with Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2023 by honouring Ms. Swathi Mukherjee, Managing Trustee, Vatsalya Foundation with the Soroptimist Excellence Award. The Soroptimist Excellence Award 2023 was conferred on Ms. Swathi Mukherjee, Managing Trustee, Vatsalya Foundation, an NGO which is a pioneering organization that works with street children in the city, through its multidimensional approach of outreach, child-to-child contact, support centres and open shelter home among others. Ms. Mukherjee accepted the award at the hands of SIBC Founder President, Dr. Daphne Pillai, Co-Founder Pillai Group Of Institutions. The award carries a citation, a trophy and a donation by SIBC to the foundation. The award ceremony was held at Dr. K.M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, Panvel and was attended by the members of SIBC, PiMSR and students Ms. Mukherjee addressed the gathering and inspired them by sharing insights about the working of Vatsalya Foundation. 50 students and 40 faculty members from Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus attended the session. The program was coordinated by Dr. Celina Joy (Past President of SIBC and member of the IIC of PiMSR).
