On 29th and 30th April 2025, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research organized the Business Experiential Project (BEP) and Startup Experiential Project (SEP) presentations for management students. The aim of the session was to foster innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking. This initiative offered a platform to apply theoretical concepts to real-world business challenges. Over two days, students presented projects across diverse domains, including marketing strategies, financial analysis, operations management, business models, and startup prototypes. While BEP presentations emphasized practical problem-solving within existing organizations, SEP presentations encouraged students to conceptualize and pitch innovative startup ideas.
Faculty experts evaluated projects on parameters such as innovation, feasibility, scalability, and applicability, making the sessions highly interactive and engaging. Students were encouraged to think critically, defend their ideas, and refine their models based on feedback. The presentations not only tested their academic knowledge but also enhanced their ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, and develop a professional outlook. By simulating real-world corporate and entrepreneurial situations, the event helped students gain valuable insights into the expectations of both industries and investors.
The key learning outcomes included developing research, analytical, and presentation skills, boosting confidence, and nurturing teamwork. More importantly, students learned how to transform innovative ideas into implementable business solutions, preparing them for success in both structured corporate careers and dynamic entrepreneurial ventures. The sessions were attended by 181 students and 16 faculty members.
