Closing Session at Podi School under Project PANKH

Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research (PIMSR), in collaboration with Soroptimist International, has been actively conducting educational outreach activities at Podi School under Project PANKH as part of its social responsibility initiatives. This initiative reflects a sustained commitment towards community development and educational support for school students. Notably, 2026 marks the third consecutive year of this noble initiative, which has been undertaken consistently since 2022.

As part of this ongoing initiative, the Social Service Committee of PIMSR conducted the concluding session of the current academic cycle at Podi School on 5th March 2026. The session was organized for students from 6th to 8th standard, with participation from 34 students, including 20 girls and 14 boys. The session was attended by Dr. Krushna R Sawant, Dr. Betty Sibil, Ms. Celina Joy, and Ms. Yvette Lee. The purpose of the session was to revise the key learnings from previous sessions conducted during the academic year and formally conclude the activities for the current cycle.

The primary objective of the closing session was to reinforce the academic concepts and skills imparted during earlier sessions through engaging and activity-based learning methods. The session also aimed to encourage students to remain motivated and consistent in their learning, while appreciating their participation in the program. Additionally, the session intended to provide a positive conclusion to the learning journey of the students for the current academic cycle, while strengthening the bond between the institution and the school community.

The session commenced with an address by Dr. Krushna R Sawant, who informed the students that this session marked the closing of the current cycle of Project PANKH activities. She motivated the students to continue their dedication towards learning and encouraged them to actively participate in future sessions when the next cycle begins.

Since this was the final session, the focus was on revising the concepts taught during previous sessions, particularly in mathematics and language skills, through interactive and activity-based learning. Mathematics concepts were revised by presenting students with a set of mathematical problems to solve. The students enthusiastically participated by solving the problems individually as well as in groups. Each problem was subsequently explained to ensure clarity and strengthen their conceptual understanding.

The session also included engaging activities such as the “Who Am I” interactive game and tongue twister exercises, which helped improve the students’ cognitive abilities, pronunciation, and language confidence. These activities created an enjoyable learning environment while reinforcing the concepts and skills covered during earlier sessions.

As part of the closing session, notebooks and storybooks were distributed to the students as a token of appreciation and encouragement for their learning journey. The Head of the School expressed sincere gratitude to the PIMSR team for their consistent efforts in conducting educational and developmental sessions for the students. The students also shared their experiences and expressed appreciation for the knowledge, guidance, and activities provided throughout the program.

The session was successfully conducted with the active support of MBA student volunteers – Ms. Riya Reji, Ms. Tanishka Shinde, Mr. Vedant Janwalekar, and Mr. Nawaz Shaikh, whose dedication and involvement contributed significantly to the success of the initiative.

The closing session served as an effective platform to consolidate the learning outcomes of the entire program. Students demonstrated improved confidence in solving mathematical problems and actively participated in language-based activities. The interactive approach strengthened their problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and teamwork. The initiative also provided valuable experiential learning opportunities for the MBA student volunteers, allowing them to develop skills in community engagement, leadership, and social responsibility.

With the successful completion of this session, the current cycle of Project PANKH activities at Podi School has concluded, and the next cycle of sessions is scheduled to commence in July 2026. The initiative continues to reflect PIMSR’s and Soroptimist International’s commitment to community outreach, educational empowerment, and meaningful social impact.
