The Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research through its Social Service Committee organized a Marathi language session on 24th February 2026 for the 6th Standard students at Podi School. The initiative was undertaken as part of the institute’s commitment to community engagement and academic support for school students.

The primary objective of the session was to improve students’ proficiency in the Marathi language, strengthen their reading and comprehension skills, and encourage active classroom participation. The session aimed to create an interactive learning environment that would enhance vocabulary, conceptual understanding, and confidence in language usage.

The session commenced with a brief introduction by the student volunteers to build rapport and create a comfortable learning atmosphere. This was followed by a reading activity where a Marathi lesson from the textbook was read aloud. The lesson was explained clearly and systematically to ensure that students understood its meaning, context, and key concepts. Emphasis was placed on pronunciation, clarity of expression, and comprehension.

After the reading activity, a structured question-and-answer session was conducted. Students actively participated and attempted to respond to questions based on the lesson. Each answer was discussed and explained in detail to reinforce learning and correct misunderstandings. To further enhance engagement, students were asked to provide opposite words related to the lesson. This interactive vocabulary-building activity encouraged quick thinking, improved word knowledge, and boosted their confidence in responding.

The session was lively and participative, reflecting the students’ enthusiasm to learn. The key takeaways from the session included the importance of interactive teaching methods in language learning, the effectiveness of reading aloud in improving comprehension, and the role of encouragement in building student confidence. The initiative served as a meaningful step toward strengthening foundational language skills while fostering a supportive learning environment.

The session was successfully conducted by MBA students Ms. Riya Reji, Ms. Siddhi Ghag, Mr. Sujal Gangan, and Ms. Sandhyarani Sabat, whose coordinated efforts ensured the smooth execution of the program.
