Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research, through its Social Service Committee under Project PANKH, organized an educational outreach session on Self Introduction and English Reading for the students of Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School, Podi, on 27th January 2026. The session was conducted as part of the institute’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, with a focus on strengthening foundational language skills among school students.

Recognizing the importance of effective communication and language proficiency in academic development, the session aimed to enhance students’ English reading abilities, basic grammar knowledge, and speaking confidence in a supportive and interactive learning environment. Students from the 6th and 8th standards actively participated in the session.

The session commenced with student introductions to create a comfortable and engaging classroom atmosphere. This was followed by English reading practice from the prescribed textbooks. Students were encouraged to read the text aloud, and the facilitators explained the content in simple and easily understandable language. This activity helped 8th standard students improve their reading fluency, pronunciation, and comprehension skills while building confidence in reading English passages.

In continuation, basic English grammar concepts were introduced, with specific focus on nouns and their types. The grammar session helped students understand sentence structure and correct usage, thereby supporting the development of their writing and language application skills.

A self-introduction activity was conducted for the 6th standard students, where they were guided on essential elements of a self-introduction such as name, class, age, and hobbies. After understanding the structure, students confidently introduced themselves in English. This activity significantly contributed to improving their speaking skills, pronunciation, and self-confidence.

The students responded enthusiastically and appreciated the interactive and participative teaching approach adopted during the session. They actively engaged in reading, grammar, and speaking activities and expressed enjoyment throughout the session. The supportive environment encouraged students to participate freely and overcome hesitation while using the English language.

Overall, the session was informative, engaging, and effective in improving English reading skills, basic grammar understanding, pronunciation, and communication confidence among the students. The initiative successfully contributed to the academic and personal development of the learners and reinforced the institute’s commitment to meaningful social outreach through Project PANKH.

The session was conducted by MBA students of Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research, namely Ms. Sanjana Gajare, Ms. Ayesha Undre, Mr. Vedant Janvalekar, and Mr. Bhushan Bageshwar.
