As part of Project PANKH under the Social Service Committee, the Students of PIMSR conducted an Engaging Educational Session on Basic Mathematical Equations and English Reading Skills for the students of Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School, Podi, on 13th November 2025. The objective of the session was to strengthen foundational learning among school children by enhancing their conceptual understanding and building confidence in applying these skills.
The Workshop began with a focus on Basic Maths Equations, emphasizing clarity in simple addition and subtraction. Students were first introduced to the concepts through demonstrations and were then divided into three teams to solve problems on the classroom board. This team-based activity created a healthy competitive spirit, making the learning process fun, interactive, and easy to grasp. The approach not only reinforced the concepts but also encouraged peer learning and active participation.
In the second half of the Workshop, a reading activity was conducted to foster interest and fluency in English. Each child was assigned a character from a short text, and they read out their dialogues with enthusiasm. This method brought the story to life, helping students practice pronunciation, improve reading confidence, and engage more deeply with the content. The activity turned into a lively and enjoyable experience for the students, keeping them fully involved throughout.
The session saw enthusiastic participation, with students responding positively to both the learning tasks and the gamified elements. Their excitement and involvement reflected the effectiveness of interactive teaching methods in creating meaningful learning experiences. The key takeaway from the initiative was the importance of blending education with engaging activities to strengthen foundational skills while nurturing curiosity and confidence among young learners.
The session was successfully facilitated by MBA students Ms. Kunjal Negi, Ms. Tanishka Shinde, Mr. Bhushan Bageshwar, and Mr. Prasad Mhatre, whose efforts contributed significantly to making the workshop impactful and enjoyable for the school children.
