On 21st August 2025, at 3:30 p.m., the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) members of PIMSR organized a session on Accelerator and Incubation Opportunities for Student Entrepreneurs as part of the World Entrepreneur Day Conclave. The session was conducted by Mr. Vinod Madhavan, aiming to introduce faculty and students to John Mullins’ Six Counter-Conventional Mindsets of Entrepreneurs and demonstrate how these mindsets can be nurtured through accelerators and incubation programs.
The discussion highlighted six unique mindsets—Yes, We Can; Problem-First Logic; Think Narrow, Not Broad; Ask for the Cash; Ride the Float; Beg, Borrow, But Don’t Steal; and Don’t Ask Permission: Just Get On With It—illustrating how unconventional approaches drive innovation. Real-life success stories of Indian startups such as Paytm, OYO Rooms, eSamudaay, and SocialPilot were shared to show the practical application of entrepreneurial thinking.
Participants also engaged in an interactive activity, designing business ideas that leveraged one selected mindset while exploring how accelerators and incubators can support idea validation, mentorship, and early-stage funding.
The session enabled students to gain clarity on entrepreneurial approaches, understand the role of incubation and accelerator programs in nurturing start-ups, and identify mindsets to develop further. With active participation from faculty, students, and IIC members, the conclave successfully strengthened the connection between classroom learning and real-world entrepreneurial opportunities.
