As a part of Project – ‘PANKH’, the Social Service Committee volunteers’ team of PIMSR on 12th December, 2024, conducted a session on English reading, writing, speaking skills and basic grammar rules for students at the Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School in Podi.
The session started with a self-introduction of 6th grade students in which they were asked to write about themselves, their hobbies and what they want to become. Later they were asked to read it out loudly one by one. This helped them to improve their writing skills as well as public speaking. The students were also taught to recite poems. These exercises were designed to enhance their confidence and English speaking.
The 7th grade students were enthusiastically taught about synonyms and antonyms, explaining their use in sentences to enhance their understanding of how words relate to one another. They were also engaged in a comprehensive lesson on spelling, focusing on common errors and revisiting the concept of prepositions to strengthen their language skills.
Interactive session was also conducted for both the standards in the form of quizzes and games on basic grammar rules of verbs, vowels, consonants wherein students were actively engaged.
The outcomes were encouraging, students showed significant improvement in their grasp of grammar concepts and participated actively in discussions and activities. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session, as reflected in their focused attention, dedication, and active participation.
