As part of the Summer Internship Project (SIP) Workshop Series, the Second session titled “Research Methodology” was successfully conducted on 18th June, 2025 in online mode at 7:30 p.m. for MMS students. 122 MMS Students attended the workshop.

An engaging and insightful online session on Research Methodology was conducted by Dr. Shikha Singh, focusing on how to choose the appropriate research approach—qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods—based on the nature of research questions and objectives. Dr. Singh clearly explained that qualitative methods are best suited for exploring perceptions and experiences, quantitative methods are ideal for measuring and testing hypotheses, and mixed methods provide a comprehensive view by combining both approaches. The session also included a practical segment on analyzing qualitative data through thematic analysis, where participants were guided step-by-step through the process of identifying codes and developing themes from interview or open-ended responses.

Participants learned to structure data, assign codes, filter responses, and derive meaningful themes using Excel functions. The session proved to be highly beneficial, offering both theoretical clarity and practical skills essential for academic research.

In addition, Dr. Celina Joy and Dr. Betty Sibil addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the SIP timeline and taking the process seriously. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students’ queries were addressed, ensuring clarity and direction as they begin their research journey. This workshop laid a strong foundation for the upcoming sessions in the SIP Workshop Series.
