In a world where digital interactions can easily turn dark, there’s a beacon of hope rising from Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research.

On 12th August, 2024, our students took a courageous step forward at the ‘Wht Now’ Cyberbullying Awareness event. This was more than just an event; it was a pivotal moment in their journey to make a meaningful impact in the digital realm. Held in collaboration with ONGC at NBP Green Heights, ONGC, Mumbai, our students seized the opportunity to engage with pressing social issues, proving that the future is in safe hands.

Behind every impactful event is a vision and leadership that inspires.

This campaign is the brainchild of Ms. Neeti Goel, a passionate socialist and entrepreneur, and Dr. Nivedita Shreyans, an eminent educationist, philanthropist, and Director PR-Pillai Group of Institutions. Together, they have created a platform dedicated to empowering the youth to stand tall against cyberbullying. The event was graced by keynote speakers from ‘Wht Now’ and ONGC, including the CVO of ONGC, who addressed the audience on the importance of vigilance in our lives.

When expertise meets advocacy, change happens.

Ms. Tejasvini Satpute IPS, DCP Zone 5, was a key speaker who captivated the audience with her insights on growing cyber concerns and strategies to combat these invisible enemies. Her words, along with the presence of the brand ambassador of ‘Wht Now,’ Taha Shah Badussha, who interacted with the crowd, brought a new level of urgency to the issue at hand. The event also featured a powerful performance by famous rapper Prithv Mohan, who delivered a theme song that resonated deeply with the audience.

Collaboration is the key to tackling the most pressing issues of our time.

In conjunction with ONGC’s Vigilance Month, this event became a call to action. Top-level senior executives and officers from ONGC attended, pledging their support to the ‘Wht Now’ initiative. Our students took the stage with a skit that wasn’t just a performance—it was a call to action. Their creative approach to addressing the challenges of cyberbullying earned them a huge round of applause and left a lasting impact on the audience.

Education extends beyond the classroom—it transforms lives.

Our students’ involvement went beyond performing a skit. They engaged with cyber security experts, mental health professionals, and young activists, gaining invaluable insights into the complexities of cyberbullying. This experience was transformative, providing them with the knowledge and skills to create a safer online environment.

Real-world experience is the foundation of true learning.

This event provided our students with an opportunity to contribute to a cause that matters while also helping them develop skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom. This event wasn’t just a platform for awareness—it was an educational journey that aligns perfectly with our institute’s commitment to producing socially responsible and well-rounded graduates.

Networking is the bridge between education and opportunity.

The event opened doors for our students to network with professionals from various fields, including law enforcement, cyber security, and corporate leadership. This exposure is expected to benefit them immensely in their future careers, offering a broader understanding of how different sectors contribute to addressing societal issues.

At Pillai Institute, we don’t just teach theory—we inspire action.

Our collaboration with ONGC, the Government of Maharashtra, and the Maharashtra Police Cyber Crime Cell underscored our dedication to community engagement and social responsibility. This event was a testament to our forward-thinking approach, proving that we are committed to making a real difference.

Every great achievement is the result of a dedicated team.

A special shout-out to the team that made it all possible: Dr. Nivedita Shreyans, Prof. Mangesh Malusare, Prof. Himanshu Vaidya, Ms. Shipra Lal and Ms. Varsha Sarwade. Your coordination and guidance turned this event into an unforgettable experience for all involved.

In a world where challenges abound, our students have shown that they are ready to rise to the occasion.

The ‘Wht Now’ Cyberbullying Awareness initiative wasn’t just an event—it was a transformative experience that will resonate with our students for years to come. At Pillai Institute, we are proud to be shaping the leaders of tomorrow, one impactful event at a time.
