The Institution Innovation Council of PiMSR organized a Workshop on “Creating a Business Plan for your Start-up” in an online mode on 17th August, 2024 for the participants of the Business Plan Competition. The objective of the session was to teach the basics of making a business plan for a startup.
The resource person was Dr. Shardul Buva. Dr. Buva has completed his PhD in Accounting and is an Assistant Professor at Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science. Dr. Buva began the session by talking about the basic concepts of commerce and accounting. He explained the various facets of revenues, expenses, profit and loss and cash flows. He further went on to create the business plan on excel taking the students along for a clear understanding of the financial statements concepts. The benefits of the session were that the students understood the various laws and regulations applicable to starting a business in India. 18 students and 3 faculty members attended the workshop. It was an interactive session and appreciated by all.
