Session on “Nouns, Idioms and Reading”

As part of Project ‘PANKH’, the Social Service Committee Team of Pillai University organised a Reading and Vocabulary Session on 06th October 2026 for the students of Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School, Podi. The session was aimed at creating an engaging learning environment where students could improve their spelling, vocabulary, listening, and word-building skills through simple and interactive activities.

The session opened with a brief interaction between the volunteers and the students. The volunteers introduced themselves and invited the students to share their names, helping to build a friendly and comfortable environment for participation.

The students were first involved in a Nouns Activity, where the volunteers explained different types of nouns with simple examples and asked the students to identify and use nouns in sentences. This helped improve their grammar, vocabulary, and understanding of nouns. This was followed by an interactive Idioms Activity, where commonly used idioms were introduced and their meanings were explained through examples.

The students participated by identifying the meanings and using the idioms in sentences, which helped improve their communication and vocabulary. The session concluded with a Reading Lesson on Journey to the West, where selected parts of the story were read aloud and explained in simple language. The students actively participated by reading passages and answering questions, which helped improve their reading, pronunciation, listening, and comprehension skills.

The students participated enthusiastically and showed interest throughout the session. The activities made the learning process more enjoyable while also allowing the volunteers to interact with the students and understand their learning needs.

Overall, the session was a meaningful and engaging learning experience that combined education with interaction and active participation.

The session was conducted by MBA student volunteers Mr. Pradnyesh Wanjare, Ms. Diksha Patne, and Ms. Supriya Mumbaikar.
