PiMSR’s Institution Innovation Council (IIC) in association with Asian Institute of Family Managed Business organised an interesting panel discussion on “Learning From Young Entrepreneurs” on 18th June, 2021 at 5 pm. The objective of this discussion was to understand the opportunities and challenges that young entrepreneurs face in business, how they managed these challenges and the lessons learnt from these experiences. The panelist were Ms. Payal Gupta – Business Development Director of Technotrove Systems, Mr. Nishant Jhunjhunwala- CEO of Foresta Organics and Mr. Rishi Dedhia- Partner of Credence Advisors. The discussion was Moderated by Mr. Siddhant Dugar-COO of Designer Exports.

Ms. Payal Gupta is a first generation entrepreneur who co-founded Tecknotrove Systems with her husband in 2002 with a vision to create virtual training environments for critical applications. Tecknotrove is the first Indian company to develop Simulation and virtual reality solutions for industrial training across sectors like Automotive, aviation, mining and defence. With a humble beginning of 3 employees Tecknotrove now employs 120 people with sales in over 24 countries across the world. The company has won multiple awards for outstanding innovation in the field of simulation and training.

Nishant Jhunjhunwala is the CEO of Foresta Organics (A Bootstrap Nutraceuticals B2C Startup). He also serves on the Board of his family business Shree Aditya Syntex Private Limited (Textile Manufacturing Unit). Foresta Organics has been nominated by Economic Times for Most Promising Brands in India in 2019 & Emerging Brands of India in 2020 within 2 Years of its incorporation.

Mr. Rishi Dedhia is the Founding Partner of Credence Advisors LLP. He is a part of BNI for the last 12 years. He is a member of TREK – The Real Estate Kings, an elite Brokers organisation & a well recognised body in the Real Estate industry.; having worked with companies such as Tribecca Ventures (Donald Trump India Venture), Landmark worldwide, Shell Petroleum, Raymonds to name a few.

Mr. Siddhant Dugar is the COO of Designer Exports which has been in the business of manufacturing readymade garments since the past 3 decades and are suppliers’ to the Corporate Value Retail chains in India including the likes of Reliance group, Lifestyle group, DMart , VMart, etc. Mr. Siddhant Dugar is himself involved in this business for the past 8 years now, ever since school got over. He also set up an establishment in Tirupur 5years ago. In the adversities of current times, they had further diversified into PPE Kits & Mask manufacturing and turned a pandemic into an opportunity and continued growing from strength to strength even post Covid-19.

The discussion started with each panelist sharing their entrepreneurial journey and the challenges faced in the process of setting up their businesses. They emphasised the importance of day to day learning, discipline, rigour and stimulating creativity to find solutions for problems faced. They spoke about facing rejection and reiterated to the students to not take rejections seriously and there’s always a way out.
