IIC members of PIMSR MMS First year students organized a Quiz & Digital Poster Making Competition on “Missile Man”, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalamon 27th November, 2023 at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus. The participation by the students in the “Missile Man Quiz & Digital Poster Making Competition” was high and robust.

The objective of the Quiz & Digital Poster Making Competition was to organize a commemorative event, dedicated to honouring the legacy of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam by the IIC Students Committee from F.Y. MMS – PIMSR, celebrating his Birth Anniversary through the “Missile Man Quiz & Digital Poster Making Competition” and also to foster knowledge, creativity, and a deeper connection with the visionary leader.

The event unfolded by engaging participants in a two-fold competition, involving a quiz round to select and pair the top students. The gripping quiz competition comprising 10 thought-provoking questions centred on the life, achievements, and ideals of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, preceded by an intense round of quizzing that needed to be completed within 10 minutes, the top 18 students emerged as the crème de la crème, showcasing their profound knowledge of the Missile Man of India. This was accompanied by a digital poster-making round where each pair crafted innovative posters aligned with the ideals of Dr. Kalam.

The subsequent round challenged the artistic and innovative prowess of the selected 18 students. Paired into 9 groups, each comprising two students, participants were tasked with creating digital posters in 30 minutes that encapsulated innovative ideas aligned with the principles and vision of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

The creative endeavors of the participants were evaluated by esteemed faculty members – Prof. Pushpendu Rakshit, Prof. Shaheda Sheikh, and Prof. Krushna R Sawant. Their expertise ensured a fair and thorough assessment of the digital posters, considering both creativity and alignment with the values of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

The pinnacle of the event witnessed the felicitation of the top three groups whose exceptional performances stood out in both rounds. The winners were given cash price as a token for their creativity and proficiency. The cash prizes served as a tangible acknowledgment of the winners’ dedication and ingenuity, symbolizing the committee’s appreciation for their exceptional efforts.

The top-ranking trio of pairs comprises those who showcased exceptional teamwork and innovation throughout the competition:
1st Place- Aditya Bhoir & Abhishek Yadav
2nd Place- Prajwal Sune & Somali Pradhan
3rd Place- Aniket Madhavi & Chetan Mhatre

These prizes not only recognized the winners’ creative talents but also acknowledged their ability to embody the spirit and values of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

The event concluded with a brief and inspiring address by Prof. Krushna R Sawant to the IIC Committee, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in nurturing the holistic development of students and fostering a deep appreciation for the ideals of Dr. Kalam. The participants and organizers alike graced the event with a sense of pride, having paid a fitting tribute to the legacy of the Missile Man of India.
