On 25th November 2022, Prof. Gopal Purushuthoman conducted an interesting Session on “What is Uour MBA IQ” under the aegis of the Corporate Relations Committee. The session was conducted at the Auditorium of Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research. 178 students attended the session.

Prof. Gopal is the Registrar of Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research and an entrepreneur. Prof. Gopal defined MBA IQ as the cognitive abilities that are necessary to excel in a MMS program. While the MMS program covers a wide range of subjects, including finance, marketing, and management, MMS IQ is not specific to any of these areas. Instead, it encompasses a broad set of skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical reasoning, that are crucial for success in business. MMS IQ is also closely linked to emotional intelligence, which involves the ability to understand and manage one’s emotions, as well as those of others. While a high MBA IQ can be beneficial in many areas of business, it is not the only factor that contributes to success. Other factors, such as practical experience, networking and communication skills, are also important for achieving career goals in the business world.

Prof. Gopal gave many examples and explained the various facets of IQ and how to build these capabilities. He encouraged students to read voraciously and expand one’s intellectual capacities. The session was very useful and informative and the students asked many questions which were answered by Prof. Gopal.
