The HR Club of the Pillai Institute of Management Studies and Research (PiMSR) organized an insightful guest session on “Future-Ready HR: Navigating VUCA & Inclusion” on 8th April 2026 at the Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Krushna R. Sawant. The session aimed to equip students with a deeper understanding of the evolving role of Human Resources in today’s dynamic and uncertain business environment, while preparing them to effectively respond to emerging organizational challenges.

The session was conducted by Mr. Ameet Kakar Thakur, a seasoned HR professional and corporate speaker known for his practical insights into the modern workplace. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from MBA and PGDM students, especially those specializing in Human Resources. The event commenced with a formal welcome and introduction of the speaker, setting a professional and engaging tone.

During the session, Mr. Thakur provided a comprehensive understanding of the concept of VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) and its increasing relevance in shaping organizational strategies. He emphasized that modern organizations operate in highly unpredictable environments, requiring HR professionals to move beyond traditional administrative roles and adopt a strategic, agile, and adaptive approach. This perspective enabled students to appreciate the critical role of HR in driving organizational resilience, managing change effectively, and maintaining employee engagement in uncertain conditions.

A significant focus of the session was on inclusion and gender equity in the workplace. The speaker highlighted the importance of building inclusive organizational cultures where employees are treated fairly and provided equal opportunities to grow. Through discussions on gender bias and workplace challenges, students gained valuable insights into the need for awareness, structured policies, and unbiased decision-making. The session reinforced that success in HR depends not on gender, but on essential competencies such as communication skills, empathy, emotional intelligence, leadership, and ethical decision-making, thereby shaping a more inclusive and progressive mindset among participants.

The session also introduced students to emerging HR trends and technological advancements, including the use of Artificial Intelligence, HR analytics, remote working systems, employee well-being initiatives, and flexible work practices. These discussions enhanced students’ understanding of how technology and changing workforce expectations are transforming the HR function, while highlighting the importance of continuous learning and adaptability for future HR professionals.

An interactive activity further enriched the learning experience, where students engaged in situation-based problem-solving related to workplace scenarios, inclusion, and HR decision-making. This activity encouraged critical thinking, practical application of concepts, and active participation, enabling students to develop confidence in handling real-world HR challenges.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speaker for his valuable insights and time. Overall, the session proved to be highly informative, engaging, and impactful, as it successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry expectations. It not only enhanced students’ conceptual clarity but also instilled in them a forward-looking perspective, emphasizing the importance of adaptability, inclusivity, and strategic thinking. The session effectively prepared students to become future-ready HR professionals, capable of navigating complexity, driving organizational success, and contributing meaningfully to inclusive and sustainable workplace practices.
