Through Project PANKH, the Social Service Committee Team of PIMSR conducted an English learning session on Thursday, 20th August 2026, for the students of 4th Standard at Zilla Parishad Gyan Jyoti Savitribai Phule School, Podi.
The primary aim of the session was to help students strengthen their basic English skills, improve their reading ability, develop simple spoken English, and build confidence in communicating in English. The session was designed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment where students could practise English without hesitation and gradually develop confidence in using the language.
The session began with a friendly interaction with the students to make them comfortable and encourage active participation. The first activity focused on Reading, where the students were encouraged to read simple English words and sentences aloud. The MBA student volunteers guided them with pronunciation and helped them understand the sentences wherever required. The activity helped the students read with greater confidence and improve their familiarity with basic English words and sentences.

Following the reading activity, an interactive activity on “Myself” was conducted. The students were taught how to introduce themselves in simple English, including basic information such as their name, age, class, school, and other personal details. The students were encouraged to introduce themselves individually and were guided wherever they faced difficulties with sentence formation or pronunciation. This provided them with practical experience in using simple English for everyday communication.
The session was interactive and engaging, with the students actively participating in both activities. The learning takeaways included improved reading and pronunciation skills, familiarity with simple English sentences, and greater confidence in introducing themselves and speaking in English. The session also encouraged the students to speak without hesitation and develop a positive attitude towards learning and using English.
Overall, the session provided the children with a meaningful opportunity to practise basic English communication, strengthen their reading skills, and build confidence in speaking English.
The session was conducted by the MBA student volunteers Ms. Sandhyarani Sabat, Ms. Anjalee Nishad, and Mr. Vedant Janvalekar.
