The School of Business, Pillai University, successfully organised “DealCraft – A Workshop on Negotiation Skills” for the newly inducted management students on 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 24th July 2026 within the university campus. The workshop was conceived to equip students with practical negotiation competencies through an experiential and application-oriented learning approach.

The workshop was conceptualised and led by Dr. Bimlesh Sharma, with valuable support from Dr. Mahesh Ranade, Dr. Krushna Sawant, Prof. Prachi Lad, Prof. Prasenjit Yasambare, and Prof. Vijay Karwande. The collaborative effort of the faculty ensured that students received a comprehensive understanding of negotiation principles and their relevance in contemporary business environments.
A distinctive feature of the programme was the presentation of six negotiation skits, each based on carefully selected real-life business case studies. The simulations covered diverse management scenarios such as procurement negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, labour-management discussions, buyer-seller negotiations, stakeholder conflict resolution, and strategic business decision-making. Through role-play, students experienced the dynamics of negotiation from multiple stakeholder perspectives and developed an appreciation for preparation, communication, persuasion, ethics, relationship management, and value creation.
Each skit was followed by an interactive faculty-led debriefing, wherein the key negotiation strategies, behavioural aspects, and managerial insights were discussed and linked to real-world corporate situations. This reflective approach enabled students to critically analyse negotiation processes, understand the importance of collaborative problem-solving, and recognise the significance of achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation across all batches of the newly inducted management students. It provided an engaging platform for enhancing communication, teamwork, critical thinking, leadership, and decision-making skills while reinforcing theoretical concepts through practical application.
The successful conduct of DealCraft reflects the Pillai University – School of Business’s commitment to delivering innovative, experiential, and industry-oriented learning experiences that prepare students to confidently address complex managerial and business challenges.
